A SECOND World War fighter pilot will tell of his experiences during a lecture at Purfleet Heritage Centre on Sunday February 15.
Wing Commander Peter Ayerst DFD will speak about his RAF career during those desperate days of 1940 as well as his time as a test pilot and at RAF Hornchurch during the 1950s.
He will be at the centre in Centurion Way, Purfleet at 1.30pm.
The event will also see an aviation art exhibition by international acclaimed artist Barry Weekley, who on that day will be releasing his new print depicting Peter Ayerst’s Hawker Hurricane during the Battle for France in 1940.
The print is titled ‘Advance Strike Force’ and will be on sale throughout the day.
Both Peter and Barry will be signing the print during the morning.
Tickets for the lecture are available on the day at £7, which includes admission to the museum and art exhibition.
Admission to museum only is £3 adult, £2.50 OAPs, £1.50 child, under fives free.
The lecture is restricted for seating 80 people only.
