FANS favourite Jamie Guy has left Grays Athletic.
The former Colchester United striker has played an important start in Blues' campaign this term, netting four goals, but family and work commitments mean is now on his way out of Mill Field.
Guy, 27, recently became a father and with some of fixtures and sessions moved to accommodate cup ties and the weather, he had decided to leave.
Blues manager Jody Brown, who has worked with Guy at several clubs, said he was sorry to see him go.
"I know what Jamie brings to a side but he's started a new family and with his commitments away from football it makes sense to go in different directions.
"He's scored some important goals for us, and played a pivotal part in getting our season going. I am sad to let Jamie go but with the emergence of our young front players the squad continues to improve and evolve so we have to move with it.
"There's already interest in Jamie so releasing him now will improve his chances of securing a deal and I'm sure he will score goals wherever he goes."
*Jon Glowacki has also left the club.
