TILBURY boss Joe Keith believes his side are capable of enjoying success this season.
The new Isthmian North campaign gets underway tomorrow, with AFC Sudbury the visitors to Chadfields.
Keith has bolstered his side during the close season, with a number of players he had become familiar with at East Thurrock United making the move to the Dockers.
And Keith, who will enjoy his first full campaign in charge of the club this term, is positive ahead of the big kick-off.
Keith said: “I knew the people coming in, so I know what they’re like.
"It’s no surprise that they have gelled well because they’re great lads and players.
"Hopefully they’ll give us what was missing last year.
“I’d love to say we’ll win the league but, realistically, the key was to keep a lot of the youngsters.
"We’ve done that and added experience. I think we can be successful and competitive this season.”
And Keith also believes Tilbury have benefited from a challenging pre-season schedule.
The Dockers chief added: “We’ve had a lot of games in pre-season and found out a lot about the squad.
"We’re confident we’ve put together a good squad, but we will find out more once the season starts.
“Pre-season has been good and I think it’s good to lose a couple of games because that’s when you learn the most.
"We have had some good results and performances as well.”
