Roy Barnes Batas, East Tilbury. Sadly passed away on 15th July 2024. Wonderful Brother, Dad, Grandad and Great Grandad, will be greatly missed but forever in our hearts. A colourful Funeral to be held 2nd August, 3pm at Pitsea Crematorium and after at The Dickens Bar, East Tilbury. xxxx

I grew up on Bata estate knowing Roy and going to school with him. I was sorry to belatedly read of his passing. We went to Grays Technical School, traveling by train and bus along with Norman King and Peter Kerby. Roy was a nice person with whom I lost touch after I moved to Bristol in my late teens.
