PRESIDENT John Illing extended a warm welcomed to 23 members at the Park Inn, North Stifford, for the club’s April lunch and annual general meeting.
The meeting confirmed the handover of the post of president from John Illing to Ken Liggins.
The meeting also confirmed the principle officers for the coming year in addition as Dick Spanton (treasurer and vice president), Trevor Peters (secretary), Don Baines (speaker secretary), George Mann (assistant treasurer) and Paul Clancy (assistant secretary).
Member Brian D’Arcy gave a talk on life in his teenage years in Liverpool, Rochdale and Stalybridge, and later during his Army career in Egypt, Malaya and Belgium. Don Baines proposed a vote of thanks.
The meeting closed with the drawing of the monthly raffle and confirmation of the arrangements for the May Ladies Day Lunch, to be held on Tuesday, May 7.
