FLOWERS were presented to retiring president Gill Morris and secretary Nicky Nunn, who have handed their posts over this month to new president Margaret Clamp and new secretary Denise Nice.

Liz Wakefield is to take the post of treasurer and thanks were given to Niki Garwood, who has retired from this post.

Joanne Phillips has taken over the speaker post and members enjoyed a visit to the Westcliff Theatre to see the Full Monty that Joanne arranged.

This month’s meeting was a social one with a Beetle Drive, won by Margaret Ockendon and June Adams.

Members who wish to go with Chadwell WI on a coach trip to Brighton in June should contact them.

Craft is to be the theme for social time at future meetings and ideas were sought.

The next meeting is at West Tilbury Village Hall on June 4, from 7pm to 9.30pm.

Speaker will be Maggie Piper on Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Visitors are welcome.
