AT our April social meeting we held a coffee morning.
The ladies enjoyed the delicious cakes and the hall was filled with chatter.
Our President, Ann Nash, was re-elected at the May Annual Meeting and Betty Heacock is now our minutes secretary. We also have a new committee member, Juanita Grey.
Shirley Perkins, a county WI adviser, who attended our meeting, demonstrated, by a flower arrangement, how the WI works. Shirley emphasised, with her display there is no “them and us” within the WI, but we we are all part of one group.
The May flower of the month was a lilac and won by Susan Smith. Our coach trip, which was due for May 28, is to Windsor and on June 11 we are looking forward to our birthday party, a ploughman’s lunch, with guests from other institutes.
