JENNY White, chairman, welcomed members and visitors to the June meeting.
Jean Nightingale gave a very interesting and amusing talk on the life of Joyce Grenfell. Jean then went on to present several of her well-known monologues.
Several of the members had recently attended an afternoon tea at Mary Green Manor, in Brentwood, which was enjoyed by all.
The competition this month was for an original limerick, which was won by Sheila Drake.
Next month is our summer social and tombola. The competition is a flower from the garden.
Our meeting will be on July 10 at 7.30pm at Corringham Village Hall and visitors will be made very welcome.
