WE welcomed 21 members and two new members to our June meeting.
Members were invited to bake their favourite cake and after a taste test we voted for our favourite – new member Meg Croney won the best cake with her easy carrot cake.
On June 26, six members enjoyed a day trip to Denman College, in Oxfordshire, where they attended cookery and craft demonstrations, a tour of the college and lunch and afternoon tea.
Our annual cream tea was due to take place on Wednesday, July 10, at 2pm.
Tickets were available to purchase for theatre trips to the Thameside for Calamity Jane in October and Burlesque in November.
The next ladies’ luncheon is on Wednesday, July 17. Our next meeting will be held on July 24 at Emmanuel Church, in Sleepers Farm Road, Chadwell St Mary.
Wendy Smith will be our speaker, from Thurrock Centre for Independent Living.
