JENNY White, our chairman, welcomed members and five visitors to the September meeting.
The speaker, David Mott, a church warden, gave a very interesting talk with slideshow, on the history of St Mary’s Church, Corringham.
Members learned about the origins of the church from the 8th century and its development to the present day. Janet Course gave the vote of thanks.
Brenda Ward won the monthly competition with a pretty candlestick.
The next meeting is Wednesday, October 9, in Corringham Village Small Hall at 7.30pm. The guild is holding a quiz evening. The competition is an amusing article from a newspaper.
