THE September meeting was an illustrated lecture by Mark Lewis on Christopher Dresser, who lived from 1834 to 1904.
His style was more than of the Modernists and Bauhaus movement that followed a generation later.
His products from various manufacturers covered glass, ceramics and furniture.
The next meeting was due to take place on Wednesday, October 2, at the Stanley Lazell Hall in Grays.
This was set to be a celebrity lecture by silver expert Ian Pickford.
