ON Wednesday, August 28, the Thurrock branch of U3A celebrated its 13th anniversary with a party at the Civic Hall in Grays.
The various groups displayed and demonstrated the results of their activities which included card and board games, languages, arts and crafts, local and family history and many more.
Chairman Maggie Whitbread reminded members to book early for various theatre shows and outings. She went on to introduce Ian Evans, programmer and co-ordinator of Thurrock Coalition Partnership.
He explained how the partnership strengthened the charities and organisations concerned with the welfare of disabled, vulnerable and elderly members of the borough.
The members were then entertained by the magic of Paul Casey, a member of the Magic Circle.
The event ended with a finger buffet supplied by members.
