FATHER Christmas is set to make a guest appearance as Tilbury's Christmas lights are switched on.
The town's Christmas lights are being turned on in Civic Square at 6pm on Friday, December 6, but there is plenty of festive fun to be had beforehand.
The event begins at 4.30pm with local school choirs and dance groups singing and dancing on a festive stage - provided with support the Port of Tilbury - by the clock tower.
Father Christmas willl be arriving by steam engine at 4.40pm with all his presents for the children waiting in his grotto at the Sunshine Centre.
