THE Grays Town Band, which turned 125 this year, is holding a free Christmas concert this Saturday.
The show, at the United Reformed Church on Bradleigh Avenue, Grays, will see the borough’s oldest brass band performing a mix of traditional Christmas songs and modern pieces as well as a few well known Christmas carols.
Dave Honeywell, the band’s musical director, said: “We are holding a special free Christmas concert to mark the end of our 125th anniversary year celebrations. There will be a mix of traditional Christmas songs and some modern arrangements catering for all tastes.”
Grays Town Band is a community band providing lessons for all ages and abilities for just £1 a week, including instrument hire.
