A SUPPORT group for the family and friends of those misusing drugs or alcohol is looking for new members.
The group, which meets at Oasis on Orsett Road every Wednesday between 6pm and 7.15pm, enables those caught up in the perils substance abuse causes to share their experiences.
Group leader Michael Thorpe, 62, said: "People who are close to someone who has drug or alcohol issues often struggle to cope and feel isolated and alone. Here at the group we share our experiences and help members to understand and cope with these problems."
A group member, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I felt my life was becoming out of control as I tried to deal with my son's addiction, which was extremely difficult.
"The group is friendly, caring and welcoming. It's good to share with others who are experiencing the same troubles. I would encourage anyone who is having problems to join the group."
