A SPECIAL day of festive entertainment is being held at the Old Regent Ballroom.

Lennox Productions, a group of volunteers who bring their talents together to put on annual musical theatre productions to raise funds and awareness for Lennox Children's Cancer Fund, are laying on a day of fun at the recently renovated venue in Stanford-le-Hope.

From 2pm on Sunday, December 15, talented performers from the group will be singing Christmas songs and performing a medley of hits from popular musicals.

The audience will be encouraged to get involved with the festive cheer and sing-a-long with the Christmas classics.

Since 2007, the group have produced many well known musical hit shows at the 500 seater Queen's Theatre, in Hornchurch including Oliver!, Barnum, Annie, The King & I, Beauty and the Beast and most recently Fiddler on the Roof.

In the evening, Carbon Copy, a five piece covers band from Essex will be performing songs from their extensive repertoire which includes hits by Pink, Kings of Leon and Oasis.

Father Christmas will also be dropping in and there will be a cold buffet to fuel guests appetites as the event goes on.

The one off event is in aid of Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund; a Romford based charity that aims to make a difference to the lives of children fighting cancer or leukaemia. They provide direct support to the children, their parents and siblings.

Three types of ticket are available. For the afternoon concert, prices start at £8 and £6 for children.

For the gala, tickets are £12 for adults and £8 for children. A combined ticket to both events is £18 per person for adults and £12 for children.
