THE Thurrock Writer’s Circle enjoyed a party night for the last meeting this year.
Barbara Spencer was delighted to win the annual Christmas competition with her short story The Yew Tree and received a cheque and a Trophy which was created by Mary Vear.
The second prize was awarded to Cindy Barber with her story The Rabbits Foot and she was also presented with a cheque. Both stories were an excellent showcase for the Writer’s group. Thanks to the Chairman and his wife, Peter and Carol Saunders of Chadwell St Mary’s Forum who were the judges for this competition. A quiz was arranged by Tina Thompson which the members had fun in answering.
A buffet was prepared by the members to enjoy and the other contributions to the story competition were read out. Members were reminded the next meeting on January 8, 2014 will be time for the TWC subscriptions. A Very Happy Christmas and Best wishes for the New Year, to all our members and friends.
