A six-year-old Grays girl who wants to save her local library has written a letter to Prime Minister David Cameron.
Evie Redgrove – who reads a book every night and has won two reading medals - can’t afford to buy books – and neither can her family.
The family currently go to Blackshots Library every night on the way home from school.
The tiny schoolgirl says she made her local librarian at Blackshots Library cry when she read out her letter.
To try to save her local library, Evie has started a campaign by making her own leaflets and posters which she plans to spread around Grays.
Evie said: "I would just be really, really sad if they closed it down."
Along with posters and stickers, the Chadwell St Mary Primary School student has written letters to the Prime Minister, Thurrock council and the Thurrock Gazette for her campaign.
