A POPULAR Grays newsagent has died suddenly.

Ranbir Grewal, 30, known as ‘Ronnie’, leaves behind dad Jesse, mum Sukhie, sister Karen and brothers Micky and Rocky.

Flower tributes has been left outside the Grays General Store, Orsett Road, where Ronnie and his family work.

Ronnie suddenly died at home last Friday. A post mortem will take place.

His sister Karen Rai, 35, said: “Everyone loved Ronnie, he was a special, well-known and popular person. He had a heart of gold ad a permanent smile on his face. There was not a bad bone in his entire body. Our whole world is shattered, and Grays will never be the same.”

His family also released a tribute to their son, saying: “Ronnie was a much loved member of the family and wider community. He was humble, happy, helpful, and kind to all he met. His smile was infectious.

“We can see how he left an imprint on all those hearts he had touched by the number of tributes."

Mrs Rai said her Facebook page had also been flooded with tributes.

Ronnie suffered leukaemia at eight, and was saved by his brother who donated bone marrow.

Mrs Rai said: “The doctors said he was absolutely normal, perfectly healthy now. He will be so missed.”

The family has run the Grays General Store for 34 years.

A page has been set up to honour Ronnie's memory on Facebook.
