HUNDREDS of people are expected to pack the Tilbury Cruise Terminal on Thursday night to hear from councillors, MPs and Highways officials over the proposed crossing.
Starting at 7pm, residents and businesses will get the chance to quiz officials over the plans.
Due to the expected interest, extra car parking has been arranged in and around Tilbury with Ensign buses putting on a park-and-ride service where necessary.
Asda, Travis Perkins, Maritime and the Fortress Distribution Park, ATL Haulage, and Basepoint at the Tilbury Riverside Business Park are making their car parks available to meeting visitors free of charge.
The regular Ensign number 99 bus service will run until 7pm (last services to the terminal leaves Asda Tilbury at 6.29pm and 6.55pm), but Ensign will also be running additional buses from Asda direct to the Cruise Terminal regularly from 6.20pm to 6.45pm.
Following the meeting’s close at 9pm, Ensign will also be running buses directly back to Asda as necessary in addition to the two planned buses to Tilbury Civic Square and Tilbury rail station.
