A Grays business studies teacher was recognised for her “outstanding contribution” at a special ceremony at the House of Commons.
Over sixty people, including pupils, parents, staff and MPS gathered to see Emma Hughes, who has taught at the Hathaway Academy in Grays since 2011, presented with her ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Academy’ award by MP John Spellar.
The “delighted” teacher was nominated for the award by Acting Principal Fatima Rodrigues.
Ms Rodriguez said: “Her inspiration and excellence as a teacher and motivator is borne out by the outcomes her pupils achieve, with her results always being on or above target.
"Congratulations to each of our winners and thank you to everyone at ATT for your hard work.”
