GRAYS Youth Theatre has launched two new groups in a bid to create a new community play for Thurrock.
The Grays Youth Theatre, based at The Grays School Media Arts College, will be running additional drama groups from today (Saturday).
The youth group, which has over 30 members normally runs on Wednesday evenings, but is running an additional classes for children aged six and above and 10 to 13.
The group is aiming to stage a play focusing on the lives of Thurrock's senior citizens during World War Two.
A showcase performance has been earmarked for June 2008 at the Thameside Theatre.
Andrew Palmer, head of drama at the school, said: "It's really exciting working with people from six to 86 for this unique project." said Mr Palmer.
The sessions will run from 9.30 to 11am for children aged six to 10. A second class for people aged 10 to 13 will run from 11am to 12.30pm.
All workshops take place in the Drama demountable behind the car park.
