THE first major musical production to be held at Hassenbrook School in years has been deemed a huge success.
Hairspray the musical involved pupils throughout the Stanford-le-Hope school, and was performed over two nights to an audience of more than 400 people.
The magical musical set in the 1960s Baltimore in the USA centres on a girl’s dream to win a TV talent show.
Ms Waters, head of music, commented: “The cast and crew were brilliant, we were so proud of them all. They worked so hard, rehearsing after school twice a week – that’s true commitment.”
