Heartfelt tributes have been pouring in to honour a popular landlady who lost her battle with coronavirus.
Margaret Orman, one of the owners of the Whitmore Arms, in Orsett, died on Thursday.
Ms Orman, who bought the pub with husband James in 1994, had been admitted to Basildon Hospital for treatment after the diagnosis.
She spent three weeks in hospital but sadly, the pub confirmed the news of her death in a Facebook post.
Hundreds of residents flocked to pay tributes to the well-known pub owner.
A Chafford Hundred Community First Responders spokesman said: "I am so so sorry to read this tragic news.
"I was privileged enough to care to Margaret in the past and was overwhelmed with the support and kindness shown to me by herself and her amazing family and workplace over the last few years supporting my volunteer work with the ambulance service.
"I am truly devastated for you all and will be holding you close in my thoughts at this sad time.
"RIP Margaret, you were truly a wonderful woman and I know your legacy will live on through your lovely family and your wonderful pub."
Another posted: "Our hearts are broken for you all. Margaret was duch a lovely lady inside and out.
"Margaret cared for everyone she didn't have a bad bone in her body and she was always honest with you. We loved her so much.
"Everyone loved Margaret. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Margaret R I P. God Bless."
