A WOMAN at the centre of a murder investigation has been named by police.
Essex Police is now able to formally name the woman who died at an address in Grays earlier this week as 89-year-old Winfred Grover.
Police were called to reports Winfred was unresponsive at an address in Lenmore Avenue on Monday and, sadly, she was later pronounced dead.
Cheryl Banks, 60, of Lemore Avenue, Grays, has been charged with murder in connection to Windred's death.
She appeared at Basildon Crown Court today.

Banks was remanded in custody and will reappear at the same court on Friday September 10 for a pre-trial preparation hearing.
