A driver has been left with potentially serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash.
The accident, which took place yesterday evening, affected the A128 Tilbury Road near Dunton and left a driver trapped.
The road was partially closed between Station Road and the A127.
Firefighters were called to assist at the scene, with crews from Basildon and Brentwood attending.
The team arrived after being called by the ambulance service to help a man who was trapped in a car.
They used specialist cutting equipment to release the man, who was conscious and breathing, by 6.37pm.

Essex Police are now urging anyone with information to come forward.
A spokesman from the force, said: "We were called to reports of a collision involving two vehicles in Tilbury Road, Dunton shortly after 5.45pm on Friday July 9.
"One person sustained potentially serious injuries but their condition is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
"We need anyone who saw anything or has dash cam footage to contact us.
