CORONAVIRUS cases continue to rise across south Essex as the Government’s work from home order comes into force today.
Castle Point is now recording the highest infection rate in the county, with the latest data for the week up to December 7 showing the borough is recording 707 cases per 100,000 people.
It saw 640 new cases recorded in that seven day period.
Southend and Basildon recorded a higher number of cases in the past week. They have lower infection rates due to their larger populations.

New cases: 1,252 (up 23 from the week before)

New cases: 1,225
Infection rate: 697.9
