A MAN who was seriously injured during an alleged attack has died in hospital, police have said.
The victim, a man in his 30s, was found injured by officers on the evening of Sunday, January 2.
They had been called to Feenan Highway, Tilbury, amid reports of an assault.
The man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries but has now died.
Essex Police says the investigation into the incident is now a homicide enquiry.
Det Insp Julie Gowen, who's leading the probe, said: “I want to express our condolences to the man’s family at this incredibly difficult time.
“Our investigation into this incident is progressing well but still need anyone who we’ve not spoken to who saw anything, or has any CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage, or any other information to come forward.”
Daniel Curtin, 19 and of Chesterton Way, Tilbury, has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the assault.
He is next due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on February 3.
