A TEENAGER was violently robbed of their mobile phone while waiting for a bus.

Essex Police is appealing for information following a report of assault and theft in Tilbury.

It was reported the victim, a teenage boy, was approached at the bus stop in Feenan Highway at the junction with Brennan Road at around 9pm on Thursday, November 3.

The victim was allegedly asked what the time was and when he got out his mobile phone, the suspect grabbed it from his hand.

As the victim tried to grab the phone back, the suspect showed the victim an object which he believed to be a knife, police have said.

The suspect fled towards Marshfoot Road where he was joined by two other people.

Police have described the suspect as black, aged around 16-17 years old, with dreadlock style hair and wearing a black bodywarmer, black jogging bottoms, trainers and carrying a Gucci bag across his body.
