A MAN was left with significant injuries" following an alleged group assault in Tilbury.
Police were called to Calcutta Road after reports of a serious assault shortly after 9.45pm on Saturday, February 10.
Emergency services attended and found an injured man “who had been assaulted by a group of people”.
“He had been punched to the head and sustained significant injuries,” an Essex Police spokesman added.
“The man, 40s, was taken to hospital.
“We know that there were people in the vicinity at the time and we’d ask anyone who witnessed the assault to contact us.”
Witnesses should call Essex Police on 101, quoting reference 42/22554/24.
