AN up and coming heavy rock band are set to raise the roof at a charity gig in aid of the John and Bridie’s Batten Disease Charity.
Safehouse Theory are playing at Grays Poker Club, above the Working Men’s Club, in London Road, on Saturday November 29.
The bands’ guitarist and organiser of the event, Terry Watley, 25, of High Road, North Stifford, said: “I decided to organise this event because a close friend’s mum is involved with the John and Bridie charity.
“It’s such a good cause and we’d like as many people as possible to support it.”
John and Bridie Philpott aged 12 and 10, of Crouch Road, Chadwell St Mary, are the only known carriers of Variant Late Infantile Batten’s Disease in the UK.
Until three four ago they were healthy and active but are now blind, mute and confined to wheelchairs.
They are not expected to live through their teens.
As their condition is so rare there is hardly any funding available.
The band, which consists of Terry Watley, Jamie Stonehouse, Steve Loftus, Wesley Bunclark and Josh Law will be followed by a DJ playing electro and house music.
The evening starts at 7.30pm and finishes at 1.30am. Tickets cost £10. For further information and tickets call Terry on 07870632948.
