The centre is looking for nominations for favourite shop, restaurant, café or eatery at Lakeside.

The awards have been split into five categories, which are: l The Shop I Can’t Live Without Award – looking for your favourite shop at Lakeside.

Perhaps there is one store you visit every time you head to Lakeside.

Your favourite could be any of Lakeside’s 250 shops, from Topshop to Timpsons or from Thomson to Toni and Guy.

l My Favourite Place to Eat Award – breakfast at Café Rouge, tapas at La Tasca, thin and crispy pizzas at Pizza Express, doughnuts at Krispy Kreme, there’s a lot of choice at Lakeside for this one.

l The Most Family Friendly Shop or Restaurant Award – when you visit Lakeside, which store or restaurant makes your whole family feel welcome, from toddlers to teens, to grandparents alike? Which store has wide aisles and is easy to move a buggy around which restaurant keeps the kids amused so you can eat in peace? Who provides baby change facilities and goes that extra mile for families.

l The Service with a Smile Award – looking for the store or restaurant which makes every customer feel welcome, is ready and willing to help and has staff that always have a ready smile and great manners.

l The Wow Factor Window Display Award, sponsored by the Thurrock Gazette – our award will reward the one shop window display that always stops you in your tracks.

Sophie Scott, Lakeside’s marketing manager, said: “We’re really excited to be launching Lakeside’s first Retailer Awards.

“We have so many fantastic stores and restaurants here, it seems only right to reward them for all their hard work.

“We hope lots of shoppers take part and vote.”
