I AM 80-years-old and had a fall near the shops on July 25 in East Tilbury and would just like to say a huge thank you to all the kind people who helped me.

Two vehicles stopped and the drivers, a man and a lady, came over to help me up.

Then the Police Community Support Officer came and called an ambulance and let me sit in her car until paramedics arrived.

The paramedics were very kind and I would like to thank them for taking me home.

I did have to go to hospital later as the area around one eye became very swollen, but thankfully no bones were broken and I am now recovering.
