WEST Ham manager Gianfranco Zola’s son Andrea could make his Grays Athletic debut against promotion-pushing Oxford United tomorrow (Saturday).
The left-back signed on loan from the Hammers for a month yesterday morning.
He is one of eight players Grays boss Julian Dicks has brought in this week as his side returns to competitive action after a three-week absence.
Among them are strikers Jamie Guy, from Colchester, Wayne Gray, who lists Southend and Leyton Orient amongst his former clubs, and promising Orient youngster Harry Baker.
Nine players have also left the club, including Glenn Poole, Jamie Slabber, Alain Logombe, Fola Onibuje and Craig Braham-Barrett.
“Andrea is a great young player and I would like to thank Gianfranco for allowing Andrea this opportunity,” said Dicks.
“It is going to be a tough game against Oxford but these are the sort of games the players want to play in.
“We are expected to get beaten by them but we are hoping with the new boys to show a bit of fighting spirit, because that’s the way to win.”
Tomorrow's match kicks off at 3pm.
