IT would make Thurrock Council’s new chief executive a hero for the people of the borough, if he would take a £60,000 pay cut and explain why he should get such a high salary.
All council-funded projects have been cut. Tilbury Forum, for example, has seen more than £3,000 cut and more important places have lost funds.
In my mind, no one should receive more than £100,000 in wages. This would give them a higher standard of living than anyone in Thurrock. – T J MARTIN, Tilbury Forum chairman, Dock Road, Tilbury.
