THE 38 members present thought the July party had been very successful, with the buffet organised by Brenda Marrow and Dot Gore being very much appreciated by them and the visitors.
The July visit to Highgrove’s gardens had been enjoyed, despite the drizzle and rain.
The August social evening with wine and nibbles had gone well where a local solicitor had given a talk about wills and power of attorney.
As it is our 50th anniversary next year we are hoping to do something different to the usual birthday party in the village hall and various ideas are being considered.
Next month we will wear something yellow to support fund raising for the Air Ambulance and hope to hold a raffle to raise money for it.
Members are invited to have a facial at the Lakeside Body Shop before the shop officially opens and to consider a trip to the Cliffs Pavilion to see Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
Our speaker Sharon Thomas stepped in at short notice and enthusiastically demonstrated Supermend Fabric Repair.
Jackie Garwood won the competition for a corsage/buttonhole and Sandra Blackburn had the flower of the month.
