ELEVEN people from Thurrock Writers went to Belstead House in Ipswich, Suffolk, on a Creative Writing Weekend.
The weather was good and the accommodation and food were excellent.
Our tutor was Caroline Foster, who guided the group through various lessons, exercises and discussions for short story writing.
Caroline made every lesson count and pupils were pleased at the amount of work that they accomplished in the short time.
Belstead House has a variety of courses. Lace making and patchwork pupils were also attending courses there and crafts were on view from other groups.
Set in tranquil surroundings, it makes everything students need for their studies more relaxing and enjoyable.
Several members will be going to Corringham Library on October 6 to see Sharon McGovern, a local author, talking about the book she has written.
Members entering the Christmas themed in-house short story competition are reminded these are to be in before the end of October.
Next meeting will be the AGM on October 13 at the Hugh Delargy Complex Hall, Chadwell St Mary, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
