HOW narrow minded it is to assume the objectors to the proposed 350 Barratt Homes development in Butts Llane and 100-plus homes on the old gas works site would all be “older” people.
Surprise, surprise, the majority were younger people eager to save the green belt.
Mr Sanders left London to be in the countryside, doesn’t he realise the “vociferous minority”, as he put it, are fighting to save our green belt for our grandchildren to enjoy.
Amenities struggle to cope now, sewerage overflows in Runnymede Road, waiting times in doctors and hospitals get longer and schools are full.
When the new port opens, traffic will clog the roads.
