A MAN has been arrested and charged for drug driving after allegedly narrowly avoiding police as they dealt with another crash.
Officers had been called to Romford Road, Aveley at around 8pm on Sunday following a crash between a blue Ford Focus and a blue Ford KA.
Following that crash two fire crews from Grays were called to the scene and spent around an hour cutting one woman free from the wreckage.
She suffered minor injuries.
Police had coned off the road while emergency services dealt with the crash.
But they arrested another motorist after he allegedly drove into the cones being used to close a section of the road.
A 29-year-old man from South Ockendon was arrested and charged with driving whilst unfit through drugs.
He was released on bail and will appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court to face the charge on January 27.
