A COUPLE marrying in Bulphan on the same day as Prince William and Kate MIddleton say the royal couple are “going to steal their limelight”.
Pam Young and Chris Davis chose the Ye Olde Plough House in Brentwood Road for the venue because “it holds special memories” for Pam’s daughters.
The couple, were briefly together in the late 1980’s, but both went their own ways and only met again in May this year at a mutual friend’s party.
Since then the whirlwind romance gathered pace as they got engaged in August, moved in together, started a business and sold their respective homes and bought a home together.
Mother-of-three Pam, 46, from Hornchurch said: “We did plan on getting married on May 20, but one of my daughter’s was on holiday.
“We then chose April 29, about a week before the royals announced it, I was convinced they were going to have a summer wedding. I couldn’t believe it when I heard.
“When we found out if was the same day we were surprised, it is not everyday this happens.
“All our guests will have the Bank Holiday off which makes it even better really but they are going to steal our limelight slightly.”
Pam explained “we never do anything by halves” and the couple are also going on a Caribbean cruise for their honeymoon before the ceremony.
The wedding is set to be a family affair with Pam’s three daughters and Chris’ daughter as the bridesmaids, his son as best man and his two grandson’s as page boys.
Pam added: “The venue is so beautiful and we can have everything in one place, it means the older guests don’t have to move around too much and we wanted to get married somewhere different.”
