POPULAR radio station Kiss FM is bringing its search for a new presenter to Lakeside Shopping Centre.

The radio station is holding live auditions for a new broadcaster at shopping centres up and down the country.

The Lakeside auditions will be held on Saturday, January 22, from 10am to 6pm.

A spokesman for the station said: “It’s not about having DJ skills, a Brit Award-winning singing voice or dance moves to put Diversity to shame to enter, all you need is the charisma and confidence to entertain the nation alongside some of the country’s leading radio personalities.”

The Kiss Chosen One competition, sponsored by BlackBerry, will be the first time the radio station has held live open auditions where members of the public can win a spot on the award-winning Kiss presenting team.

Andy Roberts, Kiss Group programme director, added: “It's always important for us to grow our own talent and to offer new opportunities to our listeners – the Kiss Chosen One is a great chance for someone to get a head start in our industry on one of the most listened and watched media brands in the UK.”

As well as the live auditions, entrants can upload their audition online.

The judging panel will comprise Andy Roberts and one of the Kiss presenters, including Manny Norte, Rickie, Melvin and Charlie, who will shortlist the five best entrants from each heat.

From there, trials and challenges will be set, with the most successful contestant crowned The Kiss Chosen One.
