IN response to the writer (Gazette, December 31) regarding parking in Long Lane.
I think it unfair the residents of Long Lane’s community spirit has been brought into question, especially when it is us that have to put up with the inconvienence of people parking here. These are not just patients but also workers.
It is us residents that put up with the inconsiderate parking, inaccessibility to some people’s drives and the hampering of safety in the road.
On December 24 Ms Butt wrote that when some of these drivers are approached they are abusive. Well they are not just abusive, but downright rude – so much for community spirit!
This is a school route and makes crossing the road dangerous for both children and adults alike.
Yes it is the hospital’s problem, but also the council’s. It’s not just Long Lane that suffers, but also Heathview and Crowstone Road.
Most of the residents of Long Lane have lived here for a number of years and have progressively seen the parking problem increase.
Something needs to be done as it is an accident waiting to happen. – SANDRA SNELL, Long Lane, Grays.
