THIRTEEN pubs in Grays have signed up to a new scheme to drive troublemakers out.
Pub Watch aims to promote responsible drinking by operating a “behave or be banned” policy.
The initiative means anyone who misbehaves in one of the pubs in the scheme will be excluded from all the pubs in it.
Chairman of licensing at Thurrock Council, Cllr Mike Stone, is pleased so many pubs have signed up.
He said: “We have many great pubs in and around Grays and we want to do all we can to support them. It is great to see so many pubs have signed up to the scheme and we hope to extend it across the borough in the future.”
The scheme also gives pubs the chance to work more closely with Thurrock Council and the police.
