OUR well-attended January meeting was full of surprises - this was the first opportunity for members to see our programme for the coming year, Janet Compton had provided delicious cakes for refreshment time and no-one knew what our speakers were going to show us!
Dick and Dave’s Digital Show turned out to be a highly professional presentation combining digital photographs and evocative music and sound effects. Subjects included Scottish landscapes, body art (tattoos), the 60s, London Church bells and the Eden Project.
Eight lucky members were chosen to pick a Desert Island Disc each for our Hawaiian-themed birthday party in April – they will have an opportunity at the party to explain why they have chosen this piece of music.
Other future events include a six-week yoga course at Bulphan School, on Thursdays in March and the first week in April. It’s only £10 for the whole course. In February, yoga teacher Karen de Villiers will give us a taster. Kath Edwards will also have jewellery for sale. We have a coach trip to the Olympic site in May and hope to begin our walking, cycling and swimming activities again in the Spring.
For details of anything to do with Bulphan WI, call Monica on 01375 891002. Visitors are always welcome and the first visit is free (£3 thereafter).
