AN ACTION group is calling on residents to turn out for a photoshoot in Stanford-le-Hope to show planning chiefs the amount of opposition against plans to build 350 homes on green belt land.
Residents Against Inappropriate Development (RAID) is calling on residents against plans to build homes on St Clere’s Golf Course in Butts Lane to meet for a group photo tomorrow – Saturday, January 29 – at 10am at the Kings Street car park in Stanford-le-Hope to show their support. Steve Brampton, chairman of the action group said: “There is soon going to be a planning meeting at the Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation, but it will be during the day and many people will not be able to go.
“We want as many people to turn out for this photo so the planning committee will see how many people are really against this application.
“We feel the Development Corporation needs to see the strength of feeling local residents have about this huge housing estate.
“If people cannot get to the planning meeting, then a photo can take its place and people are welcome to bring a polite banner.”
