I’ve been writing quite a bit about what we remember and what we forget recently.
My article on memory prompted an old friend of mine to remind me about God’s memory when I commented that God remembers your sin no more.
My friend is called Stan. He’s a bodybuilder and biker who runs a gym on the borders of Thurrock.
Stan believes in keeping fit and strong. I used to be a seven stone weakling before I met Stan. I joined his gym and started working out there years ago. Now I’m a 12 stone weakling!
Although I don’t have Stan’s physique and good looks, I do share something far more important with him.
You see, many years ago, Stan had an encounter with God and it totally changed his life. Now Stan pumps iron for Jesus!
It is our faith that Stan and I have in common and in that area at least we are identically fit! And I also know that the forgetting and forgiving of sin is only available to anyone whose faith is fit. We could all dream about a good physique and healthy body, but until we do something about it we’ll remain without it.
I know my mate Stan would love you to join his gym and get fit, but I know he would even more want you to join God’s gym. Put your trust in Him and know fit faith and forgotten failure.
Don’t forget it! – JOHN.
