CHOOSING what to take with you on holiday is never an easy task, but if you carefully plan how long you’ll be away for, you can easily look stylish every day – without going over your luggage allowance.
Angela Poplett, Lakeside’s Personal Shopper, shares her summer style secrets.
“Choose a colour palette that you’ll base all of your outfits on; you can then pack just one pair of flats and one pair of heels, safe in the knowledge that they’ll go with everything.
"This’ll really help you reduce the weight of your suitcase. Comfortable flats can be found in Clarks at Lakeside, or head to River Island if you want pure fashion.
"Wedges are a great heeled option, especially if you’ll be doing a lot of walking, and Dune has some beautiful ones.
“When choosing summer dresses, stick to cotton or casual silk so they work for day and night. Lakeside’s Oasis has some beautiful cotton tea dresses that are a perfect option.
“The jumpsuit’s another summer holiday essential as it’s lightweight and won’t get too creased in your case. Choose your jumpsuit based on your body shape: if you’re short, go for full length or really short; if you’re tall, wide leg jumpsuits will look stunning. H&M and Topshop have some gorgeous floral patterned ones.
“After you’ve worn your dresses and playsuits in the evening, swap the heels and a clutch bag for flats and a beach bag then you can wear them during the day with your bikini.
“Finally, always pack a few pairs of tailored shorts, some blouses and vest tops. If they’re all in the same colour palette, you’ll be able to mix and match these to your heart’s content and create stunning daytime and evening looks. River Island’s sale is a great place to start looking and Warehouse at Lakeside is worth a visit, too.“
