MOST people struggle to find the perfect pair of jeans so Lakeside is inviting some Jean Genies to the shopping centre to solve your denim dilemmas. ANGELA POPLETT, Lakeside’s Personal Shopper, shares her hints and tips for finding denim perfection.
“This season it’s all about high-waisted jeans and slim legs which create a really flattering silhouette.
"If you’re looking for a bargain, Lakeside’s Marks and Spencer has a pair for just £22.50 that’s high-waisted with lots of stretch.
"They’re calling them ‘jeggings’ but they actually have a proper zip, button and waistband. They come in a dark, indigo wash and they’ll flatter any body shape.
“If you’ve got a bit more to spend, Levis is great for denim and they offer free alterations. They have a pair of mid-wash ‘jeggings’ that are soft to the touch and guarantee to make you feel good.
"They’re priced at £95 but if you visit on a Personal Shopping appointment, you’ll get 10% off.
“For a basic black pair, try H&M’s High Sqin range. They’re great quality so they’ll hold you up and in, and they only cost around the £30 mark.
“If you fancy injecting a bit of colour into your wardrobe, try Lakeside’s young fashion stores like Topshop, Oasis and Warehouse.
"Topshop’s MOTO Kristen jeans are, again, high-waisted with a slim leg so they’re great for tucking t-shirts and blouses into. They’re available in a mixture of pastel and bright shades so you can transition into spring by pairing them with some pumps.
“If you’re not sure about such a slim leg style, your other option this season is the kick flair. This is a really wide leg that looks great with wedges so you can channel 70s style."
