VOLUNTEERS at a community garden project in Grays are still seeking funding to try and stop its closure.
The Stepping Stones Project at Thurrock Mind in Bridge Road is under threat because NHS South West Essex has said it will have to pull the projects funding at the end of March.
The project is a place where people with mental health problems can work at the garden centre be rehabilitated so they can get jobs in the community.
Lynne Evans, CEO of the charity said: “We are still seeking funding to keep the project going, we have some amazing volunteers and we are hoping to keep it going.
“I would like to say a big thank you to all the local people and businesses who have given us donations since these funding cuts started.”
