May & Baker 22
Pegasus Palmerians 43 2nds
THE Pegasus second string travelled to May & Baker in the first round of the Merit Cup.
Pegasus anticipated a really tough contest as their opponents current first team sit top of the league.
However, in a game where team spirit and commitment were required – as heavy wind and rain made playing conditions tough – it was the Herd Lane boys who were successful. Special mention must go to Dan Collier who scored five tries in this match.
His tally took Pegasus into the next round of the cup. Other scorers on the day were Andy Goode, Dave Tester and, with two conversions a piece, Darrell Sneaky and Lewis Shamu.
